Bamboo – An Asian Solution to Climate Change

Dr. Shao ChangZhuan is a joint doctoral student at the College of Architecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the College of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. His research mainly focuses on the spatial form and mechanical properties of long-span bamboo structure buildings, the integrated design of building structures, and the design method and application practice of long-span spatial structures. He has a particular interest in utilizing new materials to conduct new structural designs. Dr. Shao ChangZhuan’s research and design cases include round bamboo structure bridges, large bamboo structure public buildings, and woven wood arch bridges, among others.
