Bambu Batu Profile
Since 2006, Bambu Batu has been promoting the many uses of bamboo for furniture, clothing, building materials, reforestation and carbon sequestration. The brainchild of Fred Hornaday, BambuBatu.com is a virtual encyclopedia for all things bamboo, and our YouTube channel features more than 100 educational videos and interviews.
We also offer workshops and consultation services for bamboo projects around the globe, including Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. One of last year’s highlights was a 10-day workshop series in Mozambique, covering cultivation, value addition, charcoal production, culinary uses, carbon credits and construction. Fred also works with Planboo, a Swedish-based company that helps project developers in the Global South to produce high-quality biochar and generate trustworthy Carbon Dioxide Removal Credits.
